BASICS OF A NEW HUSTLE, Part I
It's finally happening, the end of the year. Today I'm sure you're writing up all things you want to succeed at coming into the new year. Maybe this year you want to go to the gym. Brush up on your discipline a bit. Or take a dance class or even join a martial arts dojo and earn that brown belt you've been pining over since you were a child. Try your hand at finding romance or rekindling a relationship you weren't emotionally stable enough to see through because things got too complicated, Or he had a baby with someone else and you feel you should've stuck it out during tough times. Maybe go vegan! Hell, why not? travel more? Get a motorcycle. Meet new people! Start that business you had such a great idea to do (before your family and friends talked you out of it). Whatever it is you think you should do for the new year as a resolution, just stop it. STOP! Don't go any further. What you need to do is sit or lie down in a room by yourself. Turn off the lights. Close your eyes and breathe real deep. Yeah. That's right. Meditate! Don't know how or where to start? Why not now? Step One: Take a real deep breath. Take the first breath slowly and consistently. Inhale slowly until your belly is full of air and your lungs are so inflated you feel like you can not take in another sip. Hold your breath with air puffing your cheeks out as well til your face feels tight. Hold that first breath for as long as your body and mind and take it (When you feel like the air is fighting to get out, even). Don't panic. Release very slowly. No matter how bad you want to exhale hard, just take your time. With this breath, you should feel a bit light headed. Exhale until your belly is flattened to your back. It should feel like an elephant is sitting on your abdomen. Your lungs should feel like its deflated. Your eyes should be closed at all times. The room should be dark. Wait a few seconds, then take it 1 step further.
Step Two: Inhale slowly and slowly raise your arms stretched out in front of you reaching toward the ceiling. Stretch all digits til your fingers and thumb are moving (bending, stretching int turn. Fingers should be stretched wide apart until your fingers feel tight) Then move your arms over your head and rest them on the bed above your head and stretch your body away from your core in all directions. point your toes while you're at it! stretch your whole body away from itself as far as you can stretch yourself as you inhale. Hold your breath for a few seconds longer this time. Exhale once again very slow and steady. Upon the exhale, move your arms slowly above you reaching for the ceiling for a few seconds. Then continue to slowly lower your hands down to your side and exhale until all of your belly and lungs are fully deflated.

At this time your mind should be completely empty: Take in 3 semi-small breaths and exhale slowly to allow your organs to relax. At this time you should be conscious that your heart is steadily beating against your chest. You can feel your pulse throughout your body (even throughout the pads of your fingers). Your skin probably feels a little tight and tired so this is a great way to relax your abdominal muscles, arms, and lungs. At this time you are ready for that last big breath. Step Three: Repeat step one to complete this exercise (taking the deepest breath you can take). Lay on the bed in silence and you should let your thoughts autoplay through your mind without stressing. Just will yourself to allow your thoughts wash right over your person. Do not allow your responsibilities to define YOU! Just hear yourself think. When your mind ceases to pulse with intensity, then say to yourself aloud "What do I want to do for work-at-home? How will I pay my bills? How can I eat"?
At this time your mind will give you an answer. You heard it! I know you did. Sometimes the first thought that comes to mind seems unrealistic and fantastical, but, often makes the most sense because it speaks to the truth of what you'd rather be doing. It gives the closest depiction of what you enjoy doing and what you can and will do to make this a reality. GO WITH THAT VOICE! Your voice is what knows best. No other thoughts should enter into your mind except that of what YOU desire. Your motivations. Your dreams, talents, and blessings will always pose a reminder throughout your life to center you in the right direction. Sometimes we get jobs and forget that "JOBS" are temporary! But, it can also be a heavy burden to keep when you get bored, feel complacent, or feel pressured to keep up the routine. This is what causes most people to give up on life or pack a bag and leave town temporarily or permanently in most cases. To avoid this, listen to your inner self. This voice knows you better than anyone you love or love you! Without this voice, insanity tends to lurk close behind. Don't believe the hype! When people say "A job gives you security and benefits. You need a job! You can't do it alone!" Those are the people who know this of themselves. These may not be self-starters or creators. They are what we know as "General Population". The general population is fed what everyone else is fed and are content. The general population does not stand out, nor do they innovate very much. They change, sure, the same way the tides change as the days go by. But, not in a way where there is one solitary drop of water spawned from the ocean, can all of a sudden create a river or a lake of its own. It just goes with the flow so to speak. Escaping Employment Oppression
There are many ways to make money adequate enough to pay your bills. The question is, do you have the work ethic and "labor consistency"? If you're anything like me, you have no problem applying for employment in almost any range from hardcore labor to Office Assistant. You have the knack for doing what you have to do to support your family. As far as I know, the basic concept of supporting a family hasn't changed much over the years. Ideally, whether you're running a 2-parent household or a single-parent household the deal is the same. The adult looks for employment within the range of expertise they have experience with. Then times get rough and you start looking in fields you're not really experienced with but you understand the level of commitment and familiar knowledge and can make it work for you. If you have similar experiences as I do when you get that fateful call from an employer or the hiring manager you are excited! Thankful to God for the call you jump at the chance to make it work from day one. You work. You get your paycheck. And then pay your bills.
Have you noticed? Once you've paid your bills with that first check you have just enough money to buy food to feed everyone until that next check comes around? Yeah, me too! The problem is, this happens with all your paychecks. The way I see it if it were just me to take care of-I can swing a shitty paycheck. Hell, I can eat on a less than $10 budget per week, if need be. I can have breakfast, lunch, and dinner with dessert squeezed in between a few nights a week. I've totally lived that lifestyle for the better part of my life. But, when you are raising children... And nevermind that age of uncontrollable eating(about 5-to-9yrs old) and then the age of the never-ending hunger, "Teens"! My point is simply, the workforce in the USA suck with a capital "FUCK YOU". Especially New York City! Citizens of the United States of America are being bullied into mediocre jobs despite their education, lifestyle accustomed to, work experience, and intellectual property. America is looking a lot more like communism/fascism than a democracy. But, people scream about Islam because a woman is not allowed to shake the funky sweaty hand of the opposite sex. Crazy!

People are being pushed into submission due to lack of "REAL" jobs that fit the lifestyle they have worked hard to get and the pay grade they are entitled to. It's sheer anarchy against the righteous laws and mutiny on the intellectual. It's shit like this that doesn't make me regret letting go of shitty dead-end jobs and keep my ass home during the cold months (my least favorite time of the year) working on businesses I've started years ago. How did I get into a shitty dead-end job anyway? Glad you asked. I have children, and when they need be fed, clothed, cleansed, and represent my family name in the best way possible... Mommy has to make as much money as quickly as possible and start all over again to the beginning of this article. I got desperate ya'll! Alright? I panicked and went to work. Then I stayed to keep consistency because I hate owing people, much less-corporations. I have found a few things that I have found both enjoyable and revenue building. You get out of it the effort you put into it. What am I talking about? I am talking about going into business for yourself!

You'll be surprised how many companies both major and small businesses do the same things. Don't get discouraged. The only real advice I can give you is that when you are mining for business opportunities make sure you look for something you are good at producing and/or something you love to do. Otherwise going into business will wear you down before the trial and error part end. Remember to give yourself about 5 years to screw up and start over without the abusive defeating echoes in your head. Start out as slow as you need to. If you have children the way I do. Then learn quick, move carefully, and be patient and steadfast. Do your due diligence to A) Figure out what you like to do with little to no effort. B) Provide a much-needed service. Trust me, your stock will go up and you will be in high demand. 3) Make sure you have the correct way to prepare, produce and offer your services in a timely manner. Research is key! You do not want to go to companies asking for money and not know what those companies are all about, what they offer, and what causes they each are passionate about. Seizing The Moment
What is your idea of "Seizing The Moment"? What does seizing the moment mean to you? What would YOU have to do in order to make Seizing the moment work for you? These are questions I ask myself very often. The truth is, seizing any moment has its roots in self-doubt. If we were all fearless and adventurous, then movies wouldn't inspire us as much as they have for decades. Music wouldn't be relatable. And self-expression would be mute. Right?

Needless to say, I am a go-getter. But, there are those rare moments where it seems the world is about to sigh at the same time. And when that happens, I need to be right in that crowd with my business to catch all those inhibitions and those dollar bills. Where can I do this effectively and affordable? I have many talents and I work very hard to secure a reasonable living for myself. One thing I have always wanted to do was speak to regular people. Speak to these individuals, groups, organizations, whomever that help this nation move and thrive the way that it does. I'm sure many if not majority #American citizens love celebrities and love to know hat they are doing to stay successful and maybe even giving back to communities. But, the real superstars are not people who look for the camera crew, or paparazzi to explain their stories. I mean, sure. Celebrities come in handy to get the attention of the masses (depending on genre) and to relay messages that we deem very important and/or even fun. But, it's the average person giving free food, opening their home for shelter to others, and medicine men and women growing crops as efficiently as possible to be able to provide help to their neighbors near and far. Others like myself find information and pass it from one place to another to keep our world in tuned to whatever is going on in any way we can.

I admit I have been out of touch due to working outside my home and essentially hustling to pay the bills. Needless to say, employment these days are not about paying workers livable wages. A person should be able to pay all of their monthly bills and still have enough money left over to start saving. Instead, what these jobs do is pay you just enough to rely on working for years and neglecting your own home and family just to raise their economy. In fact, corporations have a very bad reputation for not giving a damn about those who work for them nor the communities they've centered around and drained them of their natural resources until there's nothing left. Then they move on gloating about their successes and where to go next all the while celebrating their successes. Hell, corporations are a wild beast in itself! If you ask me, typical corporations are the real extraterrestrial! They do exactly what scientists, Hollywood, and writers describe as powerful leaches. So, I made the hard decision to allow my employment tenor to expire and then focus more on what all I have started and in many ways, need to be finished. In this respect, I seized the moment!

I didn't need any special cause to do so. Nor did I need encouragement. My resolve for things that don't matter has faded. I just didn't care anymore. The manager was bitchy, annoying, and used bullying tactics to get her way. I tried to manage and hold out until at most New Year. I had weeks of harassment from this woman. Then one day, I just didn't care anymore. The trouble wasn't worth the pay. The decision was easy! Going to work with a manacing manager and lying store staff was toxic enough. It was a no-brainer. So, in my mind, it was nothing triumphant in my effort but a moment nonetheless seized. Never allow anyone to bully you or make you compromise your health, beliefs, and success goals. It never pays off and there's nothing to save from a situation like this except pain and misery that only YOU have to live with. Move forward the best way you know how and make sure you know what direction you want to move. Don't waste your time meandering about issues of no importance. Nothing is worth killing your spirit.

Greetings Readers,
I come to you on "The Real Tip". What does this mean? This mean that I, Bakka Karriem, as an entrepreneur come with a lot. I have a full family... I have children. I have debt. Ohhh Boy, do I have debt! I have other responsibilities as well. I have to elevate myself and my children. I have neices and nephews that have a bright intellectual future. These are great kids and they are being raised with the need to elevate. They deserve the opportunity to a bright future. I say this to say: In this world come a lot of responsibilities! Not just caring for oneself, but, caring for a tribe. A village. Generations that far exceed self. I build on what's needed, especially, the education that I have aquired one way or another. I admit from the bottom of my heart what's really going on with the serial entrepreneur that is myself. I try my best to be consistant. I have to run a household and make sure everyone around me is healthy, educated, and overall good. I am 38 years old and along with being a mother, I am a grandmother as well. 38 going on 39 is not the same as being 16, 26, and 36. I had all the energy in the world to run around working purely laborous jobs, coming home to bring in new business ideas, doing research on all aspects of an idea hatched into a plan and then execution.

One thing that is a fact, Money/Funding is a must! I run all business affairs on my own menial funding. Every now and then I may have a friend or two giving me $20 here, $100 there, and currently my mother who has become my foundational Angel Investor to allow me to feed my children and maybe even purchase fresh underware for myself on occassion. Clearly, this isn't enough to run a full on business nor is it intended to permenantly raise a sizeable family much less than 1 or 2 growing sons. I have put myself in the line of bad health, toxic people, and temporary relief to maintain my homefront and business. Where I am right now is less than ideal. However, I make it do what it do for the betterment of those I am responsible for.
With this said, finding myself in a status of "thriving, struggling, maneuvering" funding to not ust make ends meet but also to invest in my ideas, dreams, and mind fux to bring a better future and more opportunity to myself and my children. By nature, I am a helper. By nature, I am a nurturer and caregiver. What I have found to be honestly true is that I have never been a sellout! I do not throw others to the wolves for entertainment nor to sustain myself in material goods or wealth just to LOOK great to the eyes of those whose souls are as black as a Muslim woman's hijab. I have modesty to a certain point. I am not arrogant without right since I have put alot into myself and I have not allowed bad experiences to darken my heart and take me into a stage of "bitter soul". My goal is to tell the truth, highlight good businesses and healthier living. Taking It Bak! Magazine is a publication venue that encourages those to teach, listen, and learn to shape the world and care for others in all that is good.

Now, I'm not going to lie and tell you all how much "Tree Hugging, Rosy glass wearing, and spiritual Ohms" I'm going to publish in order to serenade our readers into a sleeping state of illusions and delusions to sell publication copies. I understand how vicious media has become over the decades as well as how equally vicious amatuer, "free will" press on social media's very famous Youtube, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, etc. (just to name a few) is these days and Taking It Bak! I am a self proclaimed Nerd Woman and I love learning new skills, tips, tricks, and hacks for a better business, schooling, and overall well being to a clearer mind.
I am never afraid to give recognition to those who make a big impact on my life and change progress of my livelihood for the better. Now, without further edue...
